Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara becomes the first Kannada film to win the prestigious Silver Peacock Award at IFFI 2023

Hombale Films recently served a treat to fans as it announced the arrival of yet another chapter of Kantara, a prequel to the 2022 cult entertainer. Known for producing the Kannada blockbuster KGF Chapter 2, the production house is now thrilled with receiving yet another honor for its mythological fantasy drama starring Rishab Shetty. The film, which took the audiences on a divine ride through nature and God, is all set to receive the prestigious Silver Peacock Award.

The storytelling, direction, performances, and music of Rishab Shetty have not only won the hearts of global audiences; they have also created waves in several prestigious award functions. While it has been more than one year since the release of the film, yet again, the film has recently been awarded at the 54th International Film Festival of India. Kantara scored history by writing a new chapter in the pre-long history of Indian cinema as the film became the first Kannada film to receive the Silver Peacock Award in the festival. Sharing the news, the makers wrote, "Delighted to announce that #Kantara has written a new chapter in Kannada cinema history, winning the inaugural Silver Peacock Award at @IFFIGoa! @PIB_India  #IFFI54".

 

 

Continuing the cinematic journey, Hombale Films has announced the incorporation of another chapter to the film with Kantara Chapter 1. The makers also unveiled the first-look poster of the Rishab Shetty starrer along with a video clip giving a sneak peek into the film. The film promises to be a visual masterpiece as it gears up to take masses on an intense and divine cinematic ride into the world of mythology. Kantara Chapter 1 is eagerly anticipated for its release next year, with plans to release the fantasy entertainer in seven languages including Bengali and English. The filming is scheduled to kick off at the end of December whereas the cast is yet to be disclosed.
