R.B. Choudary passes away in tragic accident at 76; Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan and others mourn legendary producer
Veteran producer R. B. Choudary, the founder of Super Good Films, has passed away at the age of 76 following a tragic road accident in Rajasthan. The incident occurred on May 5, 2026, in Beawar district when Choudary was reportedly returning from a relative’s wedding.
According to reports, his vehicle lost control after cattle strayed onto the highway, eventually crashing into a roadside wall. The impact proved fatal, and Choudary died on the spot. His driver, who was also in the vehicle, sustained serious injuries.
The shocking news has sent waves of grief across the Indian film industry, with several prominent actors and filmmakers expressing their condolences and remembering the producer’s immense contributions.
Superstar Rajinikanth also paid tribute, stating, “My dear friend, Super Good Films R.B. Choudhary is a top-notch producer. A wonderful human being. He has given opportunities to countless young directors and kept the film world alive. His untimely death news has left me in great shock and immense sorrow. My deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace”.
Megastar Chiranjeevi expressed his grief, saying, “Deeply heartbroken to hear about the sudden and tragic loss of Legendary producer R.B. Choudary garu. I have known him for many years and was recently associated with him on my film ‘Godfather’ through Super Good Films. He has shaped the careers of many talented directors and actors and brought countless stories to life. His contribution to Indian cinema is beyond words. My heartfelt condolences to his family, strength to them in this unimaginable loss.”
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan reflected on Choudary’s legacy, saying, “The news of R. P. Choudhry, who stood as a pinnacle among South Indian film producers, departing from us in a road accident brings shock and sorrow. A courageous innovator who never hesitated to venture into new experiments in cinema; one who introduced many to the industry and provided turning points in the careers of many others, establishing them firmly; a sanctuary for young artists eager to succeed—his departure from us is an unbearable grief. I convey my heartfelt condolences to brother Jeeva, brother Ramesh, and the family members who are withering in the loss of their beloved father”.
Pawan Kalyan shared an emotional note, saying, “The demise of renowned producer and Super Good Films head Shri RB Chowdary Garu has left me stunned. I cannot believe the tragic news that Shri Chowdary Garu met with a fatal end in a road accident near Udaipur in Rajasthan. I pray to God that his soul attains peace. He produced the film ‘Suswagatham’ in which I acted. It achieved great success. Expertise in film production and related business was his forte. He selected stories suitable for family viewing and produced films featuring excellent songs. The sister sentiment in the Annavaram film captivated family audiences. He earned a special place as a producer in both Telugu and Tamil film industries. I convey my deepest condolences to Shri RB Chowdary Garu's family”.
Actress Khushbu Sundar remembered him fondly, saying, “Deeply saddened to know that one of our most renowned producer, a thorough gentleman, #RBChoudhry Sir is not among us anymore. His untimely demise is shocking. Have done quite a number of films under his banner. He was one of the most respected member of the film fraternity. Actor Venkatesh Daggubati also shared his sorrow, stating, “Saddened beyond words to hear about the tragic passing of R.B. Choudary garu.
