Kaithi 2 officially announced: Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj reunite for the sequel

Ending months of speculation, actor Karthi and director Lokesh Kanagaraj have officially confirmed the return of the much-anticipated sequel, Kaithi 2. The film, which had been rumored to be facing delays due to the director’s packed schedule, is now back on track, much to the delight of fans.

In a recent social media post, Karthi shared a picture with Lokesh Kanagaraj, where he can be seen placing the director’s signature silver kada on his wrist. Accompanying the post, the actor wrote, "DILLI RETURNS. Let it be another fantastic year, director Lokesh Kanagaraj." He also tagged Kaithi’s production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, and KVN Productions, hinting at a possible collaboration between the two banners.

 

 

Speculation had been rife that Lokesh Kanagaraj’s commitment to other projects might push Kaithi 2 further down his pipeline. However, with this latest update from the lead actor and director, it is now evident that the film is moving forward as planned.

The action entertainer is expected to be a crucial addition to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe, which already includes Kaithi, Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram, and the Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo. The first installment of Kaithi, released in 2019, was a massive success, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of Dilli’s story.

 

Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on his next directorial, Coolie, starring superstar Rajinikanth. The film has already generated immense buzz, given the director’s track record of delivering gripping action thrillers and also the fact that it will feature an ensemble star cast of Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, along with many starry cameos. On the other hand, Karthi is busy filming Sardar 2, the sequel to his 2022 espionage thriller Sardar, directed by P.S. Mithran.

 

With the confirmation of Kaithi 2, anticipation is now at an all-time high as fans eagerly wait for further updates regarding the film’s production and release schedule.
