Hombale Films-backed Kantara: Chapter 1 trailer to release on September 22, 2025

The wait for one of the year’s most anticipated films is almost over. Hombale Films has officially announced that the trailer of Kantara: Chapter 1 will be unveiled on September 22, 2025, at 12:45 PM. The announcement was made through social media, accompanied by a striking poster and a caption in Kannada.

The excitement surrounding Kantara: Chapter 1 stems from the remarkable success of Kantara in 2022. Since then, fans have been curious about the prequel, which has been kept under wraps by the makers, further heightening the intrigue.

 

 

 

Adding to the buzz, the film is said to feature one of the largest war sequences ever mounted in Indian cinema. Shot over 45–50 days with more than 500 trained fighters and 3,000 participants, the sequence was filmed in a specially created town spread across 25 acres of rugged terrain.

 

The film also brings back key creative collaborators from the first installment, including music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan. Together, they aim to carry forward the distinctive cultural and visual language that made Kantara a landmark release.

 

Kantara: Chapter 1 is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2, 2025, in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English. Positioned as one of Hombale Films’ most ambitious projects, the film is expected to offer a cinematic experience that blends folklore, faith, and grandeur on a pan-India scale.
