After exposing mimicry artist for identity theft, Prithviraj Sukumaran forgives him and gives advice

On Monday, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran had exposed a man for making a fake account under his name and pretending to be him. He shared a picture of the impostors' profile and said that the man claimed to be him and even mimicked his voice. Prithviraj even termed his act as criminal.

After Prithviraj exposed him, the man in question reached out to him and made amends for his actions, and apologised. Prithviraj responded to him on Wednesday morning while sharing the impostor’s message to him which was a long passage in Malayalam. While Prithviraj forgave him, he also motivated him to pursue his talent in mimicry but not misuse it.

 

 

Prithviraj took to his social media handle and wrote, “Dear Sooraj. It’s alright. I understand that it was all meant to be a harmless joke. But I hope by now you’ve realised that something like this could have very serious repercussions. At one point, I believe more than 2500 people were listening in to you and that a good majority of them thought it was me speaking. I had repeated calls and messages from many people in and outside the industry, and it was imperative that I put an immediate stop to it. I’m glad you admit that it was a mistake. Mimicry is a wonderful art form and I’m sure you know many of Malayalam cinema’s all time greats have found their way into the industry from the world of mimicry. Dream big, work hard and never stop learning. I hope you have an illustrious career ahead and wish you the very best.”

 

“PS: To all my well wishers and others, I DO NOT condone online abuse. So please stop it. And once again..I’M NOT ON CLUBHOUSE,” he added.

 

 

Lately, several fake accounts of prominent Malayalam film celebrities have surfaced, especially on Clubhouse. Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, and Tovino Thomas had also shared screenshots of their fake accounts in the recent past and asked people to be cautious.
