Chennai Floods: Suriya and Karthi donate Rs. 10 lakh amid Cyclone Michaung

Tamil actors Suriya and Karthi are two of the celebrities who have stepped up to help the people of Chennai amid the devastating floods. They have donated a sum of Rs 10 lakhs that will assist in relief work amid the Cyclone Michaung.

Trade expert Manobala V took to X formerly known as X, and shared the news that the actors are offering help through their fan clubs. “Actors #Suriya & #Karthi have announced an initial sum of ₹ 10 lacs to carry out relief work in the flood affected districts of Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur. ||#ChennaiRains2023||#ChennaiFloods|#CycloneMichaung|| The actors are offering assistance to those affected through their fan clubs,” he shared.

 

Cyclone Michaung unleashed torrential rain upon Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, and Thiruvallur districts. Most places are waterlogged, and submerged in rain. As per Telegraph India, the officials said, “at least six people were feared killed in Chennai alone, some of them from electrocution on the flooded streets.”
