AR Rahman files defamation case of Rs. 10 crores against surgeon’s association

The recently held Chennai concert Marakkuma Nenjum has already been facing several issues considering that overcrowding and mismanagement by organizers have led to several legal complaints being filed against them. In fact, AR Rahman also posted a heartfelt apology followed by the mishap. And now the musician has filed a case against the surgeons’ association ASICON, after the latter claimed that Rahman did not abide by his promise and did not perform for the concert, for which they had already paid him a lumpsum advance.

Denying all allegations made by the surgeons’ association ASICON, AR Rahman and his legal team has taken action against them by filing a defamation suit. It seems that the musician’s team was extremely upset with the allegations and asked for an unconditional apology from the association because of the same. Furthermore, in the suit filed, the team has demanded a whopping amount of Rs. 10 crores for maligning Rahman’s reputation and image, asserting that in case of failing to abide by it, the musician’s team will be resorting to legal and criminal action against the association.

 

Coming to allegations made by ASICON, they have accused Rahman of not abiding by his promise and not performing at the concert, for which he already received a massive amount. In the allegation, they asserted that AR Rahman was to perform a concert in 2019 for which he received a whopping Rs. 29 lakhs from them but the musician failed to do so.
