Young chef Rupal Parab reminisces about making it to the list of Top Most 500 Influential People

Hard work always gets paid! Wrong are the people who believe that we are born with talents. There is no such thing as a born genius. They may have been blessed with some talent, but that doesn't mean that they can do things without a lot of hard work and determination. The most influential people, like Bhiva Rajan Parab aka Rupal Parab, were once just like you, ordinary people who had to start from scratch and build their careers from nothing.

While today his flavourful dishes are loved and lauded by people across the globe, being a chef was never on his list. However, he developed that passion and eventually became preeminent. In 2020, Rupal Parab got on the list of the Top Most 500 Influential People around the globe, alongside names such as AR Rahman, Sonu Nigam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Adnan Sami, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shruti Haasan, and Kajal Aggarwal. This recognition was a testament to his proficiency and impact on the culinary world.

 

Reminiscing about the moment, chef Rupal Parab says, "I still get chills when I recall the moment. I feel honoured and proud of myself. Being one of those 500 influential people whom I too have admired my whole life feels like a lifetime achievement. I'm very grateful to the people who thought I was worth this love. It was my passion that made me reach where I am."

 

Isn't that amusing? A 21-year-old (who was then 18) made it to such a huge list! This was a moment of utter pride, not only for him and his family but even for our nation. After being featured on this acclaimed list, chef Rupal Parab was also interviewed by eminent journalist Kiran Rai.

 

The hard-working dude of the Indian culinary world has worked in multiple hotels. He started his journey by training under renowned chefs at the JW Marriott (Mumbai). He then moved to Qatar and worked there for a brief time. Currently, he is employed by GKM Hospitality in New Zealand. You can take a glimpse of his savoury dishes by visiting his Instagram. Besides this, chef Rupal Parab has also made it to the list of Asia's top 20 chefs by a prominent New York press agency and is honoured with the title of Youngest Executive Chef. He is also looking to be a part of cooking shows.
