“I think just the idea of an all-girls team spearheading Dolly Kitty was super cool!”, says Bhumi Pednekar on Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare

Bhumi Pednekar is all set for her next release on the digital platform after her first outing, Zoya Akhtar’s Lust Stories. Bhumi will next be seen in Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare and says this women-centric, positive film, which was spearheaded by an all-girls crew, is a big statement in Bollywood.

“I think just the idea of an all-girls team spearheading Dolly Kitty was super cool! Women who are vocal and all for progressiveness were headlining the project, be it Ekta (Kapoor), Alankrita (Srivastava), Konkona (Sen Sharma), me, and even other members of the cast. We are all such empowered women and the experience was so satisfying and beautiful and just easy. It’s a hugely relevant and important film for the country as it will make a big statement about womanhood and it’s fascinating how girls have come together to have such an important conversation,” says the brilliantly talented Bhumi.

 

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare is a film about sisterhood and Bhumi definitely found sisters in her director, the much-talented and acclaimed, Alankrita Srivastava and her producer, Ekta Kapoor. Bhumi is thrilled with her experience of working with the progressive film-makers.

 

“I really enjoyed collaborating with Alankrita and with Balaji. You know they were coming off Lipstick Under my Burkha and I thoroughly loved the film and I think Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitaare takes it a notch higher,” she says.
