Shantanu Maheshwari reflects on his journey as Campus Beats becomes first Indian OTT show to complete 5 seasons
Campus Beats, the youth drama series has become the first Indian OTT show to complete five seasons. The show, which began as a college drama with dance battles, friendships, and rivalries, has expanded to include themes like romance, queer identity, brotherhood, personal growth, and social divides, presented authentically for a Gen Z audience.
Leading the show from the beginning is actor and dancer Shantanu Maheshwari, whose character Ishaan has grown with each season.
Speaking about the journey, Shantanu said, “It feels absolutely amazing to be part of history. Campus Beats has officially become the first Indian OTT show to reach five seasons. We’re the first to do it, and that in itself is such a proud and overwhelming moment. Season 5 isn’t just another chapter; it’s a reflection of how strongly the show resonates with people. The kind of love we’ve received is unreal, people watched it overnight and started asking for Season 6 the next day. That’s the kind of energy that keeps us going. In an age of endless content, for a story to hold its ground and find a place in people’s hearts, that’s not something we take lightly. It’s been years of real hard work, countless late nights, and so many moments behind the scenes that brought us here. This show is a part of all of us now. The credit of this entirely goes to our show's creator Palki Malhotra , without whom this show wouldn't be standing where it is today.”
The show stands out for its lead pairing, ensemble cast, soundtrack, and honest take on coming-of-age themes.
