Recently, Shabana Azmi delighted her fans and followers with a heartwarming surprise. She took to her official Instagram handle to share a rare throwback picture alongside her co-star Dharmendra from the 1988-released film Mardon Wali Baat. Reflecting on the journey from past to present, Shabana Azmi captioned the post, “At the time Jamini from Rocky Aur Rani must have met Kanwalji! From Mardon Wali Baat #KaranJohar. In Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the esteemed actors portray Jamini and Kanwal Lund, former lovers whose paths cross again as they approach the final chapters of their lives.

 

 

The film itself revolved around the enchanting love story of Rocky and Rani, portrayed by Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh respectively. Jamini and Kanwal, depicted by Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra, add a layer of complexity to the narrative as Rani's grandmother and Rocky's grandfather. The film's core premise is woven around their interrupted romance, forming the foundation for the enthralling love story depicted in the title. Notably, the stellar cast also included Jaya Bachchan, who assumes the role of Kanwal's wife and Rocky's grandmother, adding an intriguing layer of conflict to the plot.
