SEVENTEEN get fearlessly 'HOT' in riveting music video from Face The Sun album, watch

K-pop group SEVENTEEN are back with their 4th studio album Face the Sun. Arriving 2 years and 8 months after their last full-length album, the album taps into the 13-piece act’s candid ruminations on their fears and aspirations in reaching for greater heights.

By likening their greatest fear and simultaneously their ultimate goal to the ‘Sun,’ SEVENTEEN boldly express their determination to venture forth through the lead single “HOT.” The accompanying video for the hip-hop based track is packed with intricate motifs and snippets of the song’s riveting choreography, raising anticipation for the high-caliber performances of the track to come. “When Woozi first gave us a listen to the track, we felt it really resembles Seventeen’s energy as it is right now, so we just knew right away it was going to be the focus song,” said vocalist Joshua at the press conference on Friday. “We told Woozi that too and he was really happy to hear our feedback.”

 

The music video sees SEVENTEEN embrace the grunge, punk, cowboy themes in fearless and dangerous music video. Entering the mature era of their music and embracing their newer selves, the music video is enigmatic and with powerful choreography which is very SVT style.

 

Including “HOT” and the act’s first English single “Darl+ing” released in April, the new album consists of 9 tracks in total: “DON QUIXOTE,” “March,” “Domino,” “Shadow,” “‘bout you,” “IF you leave me” and “Ash.” As one of the team’s main producers and the leader of its vocal team,  WOOZI co-wrote all 9 tracks. Leader S.Coups, Hoshi, Vernon and Dino also have credits in the album making process.

 

“Our fourth studio album Face The Sun is about our candid expressions, our ambitions and how we want to become unique and influential like the sun,” stated rapper Mingyu at the global press conference on Friday. “It’s also about hope, facing your fears and overcoming them.”

 

“For our album promotions, we made a series of trailers about 13 different shadows, different fears each member has,” Dino elaborated. “And with our fourth studio album, we’ve overcome those fears and grown even stronger.”

 

Face the Sun set an all-time high pre-order sales record for SEVENTEEN early on, surpassing the 2 million mark a week ahead of its release.

 

The K-pop performance powerhouse will showcase live performances of selected tracks from the album during their comeback show on HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel at 7 PM KST on May 28.
