Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor score Dus ka Dum

This is a record in the making. Never before has a father and a son given as many as 10 major films between them in a matter of just about a year. However that is now happening for Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor who would pretty much be showing their 'Dus ka Dum' and consolidate their position as the powers-to-be when it comes to a family ruling from the top.

Last September, Ranbir was seen in Barfi! which was followed by Rishi Kapoor's Student Of The Year. Both films were big hits. However, this year would be as huge as it gets, especially for Kapoor senior who is the busiest veteran actor around.

 

This can be seen from the fact that after an endearing part to play in Chashme Baddoor, Rishi Kapoor would be demonstrating a mean streak in Aurangzeb which releases this weekend. His character carries grey shades in the film. Moreover in D-Day, the promo of which has created an all-around stir, he brings in a different dimension as Dawood Ibrahim.

 

The evil streak continues with Kaanchi.

 

Meanwhile, he would also be seen in two yet untitled Yash Raj films where he has Ayushmann Khurranna and Sushant Singh Rajput respectively for company.

 

On the other hand, Ranbir too is consolidating his place as the youngest superstar around with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani as his next immediate release followed by Besharam which arrives in October this year. Incidentally, he and Rishi Kapoor would be sharing screen space in the film.

 

With 10 major films between them in just around a year, it is a first for Bollywood, at least in the New Millennium. This could well call for the record books to be updated.
