The team of Daadi Ki Shaadi has been actively promoting the film ahead of its theatrical release on May 8, 2026. Alongside the promotions, the cast has also drawn attention for the song 'Senti,' which has gained traction for its hook step and performances.
Actor Sadia Khateeb recently spoke about her experience of joining the project and her reaction to the film’s casting. Recalling the early stages, she said, “When I said yes to the film, it was only Kapil sir back then they were in the process of finalising Daadi and Sunny Booey and the rest of the cast. So, I remember, one fine day when Ashish sir told me that they were looking at a couple of options. Very interesting names they were throwing but then they told me Neetu ma’am is doing it, I was more than thrilled because she fits the part so perfectly, she looks the part so perfectly, and she is such a fun person anyway to play this fun, and intense character.”
She further spoke about the addition of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni to the cast, calling it a strong creative decision. “It was the joy when I think my brother, who was also assisting on the film came to me one fine day and told me that they’ve locked Riddhima and I was like, wow, that’s a masterstroke to have Daadi and her real daughter playing a mother-daughter duo, it’s a masterstroke for casting,” she said. She added that with Kapil Sharma already bringing humour and energy to the film, the addition of the mother-daughter duo added another layer to the narrative.
Speaking about her first interaction with the cast, Sadia shared, “This is before I met them and I was really looking forward to meeting them, and then when I met them, o my God, they had me at ‘hello’, I fell in love with them instantly for the kind of people they were and I think they are the best, perfect cast for this film. I can’t imagine anyone else playing Daadi better than Neetu Ma’am or playing Sunny Booey better than Riddhima and you have to come to theatres to see what I’m talking about. This is a top-notch cast.”
Directed by Ashish R Mohan, Daadi Ki Shaadi is described as a family entertainer that explores relationships, emotions, and everyday dynamics within a household. The film is produced by Rtake Studios, BeingU Studios and Shimla Talkies, with music released by Warner Music India. With its ensemble cast and family-centric theme, the film is set to arrive in cinemas on May 8, 2026.
