Raja Shivaji, backed by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, continues to gather momentum at the box office following its theatrical release on May 1, coinciding with Maharashtra Day. Amid positive critical reception in both Marathi and Hindi markets, the historical epic has now received a notable endorsement from Yuvraj Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati, the 13th direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
A special screening of the film was reportedly organised in Kolhapur through Yuvrajni Sanyogitaraje Chhatrapati. In a post shared on the official platform of Yuvraj Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati, the film was appreciated for its performances and narrative depth. The note described the cast’s performances as “excellent” and highlighted that the film “appropriately portrays the contributions of Shivaji Maharaj’s elder brother Sambhaji Raje, the visionary of Swarajya Shahaji Maharaj, and Rajmata Jijau Maasahib.”
Reacting to this recognition, actor-filmmaker Riteish Deshmukh expressed gratitude and relief. “Raje! Many, many thanks to you!! Hearing your response makes me feel like the burden on me has become a little lighter. Please continue to shower your love and blessings. Jai Shivray!” he said in response to the post.
