Rhea Chakraborty responds to allegations of supplying drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput: "I don’t want to talk about drugs, I don’t want to talk about NCB"

Rhea Chakraborty recently went to India Today Conclave 2023 where opened up about her experiences, for the first time in 4 years about whatever she went through in her life and faced the media trials with sheer courage and perseverance. At the conclave, the host asked Rhea about the life that she gave up to be with the late Sushant Singh Rajput.

When asked if she wanted to bring a change regarding the image everyone has made of her, and to this, Rhea answered, "Actually no, It’s not vis a vis him, I think it's more the conditioning that we have as a woman. Growing up, you are taught to be a good girl, a girl should dress like this, talk like this, don't hold a glass at a party, Achi ladki, gandi ladki, are, tumko jo ladki banna hai bano because boys are not given this, boys are not told ki aap aise chalo, aise khao, yeh mat piyo yeh mat karo, so I feel that conditioning I would have smashed way before and it's not one person's fault it's in society by and large. I would like to tell young girls and young women out there, please live your life the way you want to live your life. You dressing a certain way, talking a certain way or having a certain life habit, does not make you a good or bad girl."

 

On being termed a 'chudail', a 'killer', Rhea responded by saying, "I Love you Too" to the trolls and then a huge round of applause she received from the audience.

 

Speaking about her condition of vulnerability, Rhea went on, "I cry a lot. I cry in movies, I cry in sorrow, I cry in pain, I cry if any of my girlfriends go through a breakup, I cry for everyone. I have not lost my emotions Rajdeep, I have just become stronger, doesn't mean I don't cry anymore, I still cry and I think that, I would like to say people often keep saying this to me, you are a strong person, strong girl, to me the biggest strength and this is what I want Indian man and women both to understand, vulnerability is the biggest superpower one can have. its the only power you have as a human being and I accept my vulnerability."

 

When asked whether she supplied drugs to her late boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, she added, "No, and secondly, I am done with this topic. I don’t want to talk about drugs, I don’t want to talk about NCB. I don’t want to talk about the CBI. Let the agencies do their jobs and let us do our jobs. How about you talk to me about my mental health and how the hell did I get out of that and sit on this chair to talk to you? How about that?"

 

When asked if she has gotten any closure regarding the whole controversy, she replied, " "I don’t think closure is the right word. I don’t think you can get closure from something like this. The thing is I faced a personal loss. There can never be closure on that. It engulfs your life at start then your life starts growing around it. But, it will always exist. It will always be in your back pocket. It will always be rear from the back of your mind and say that I am here. Don’t think I am gone. So I don’t think I will get closure in that sense. But, has it changed my perspective, yes."

 

On the work front, Rhea Chakraborty is currently a gang leader in Roadies: Karam ya Kaand.
