Raveena Tandon, one of tennis champ Sania Mirza's closest friends, had the good fortune of being in Hyderabad on November 15 when Sania Mirza turned a year older.

The girl-pals whooped it up without their spouses around for support.

 

Raveena who is shooting for a Telugu film in Hyderabad says, "Sania didn't a throw a party. It was just me and five other friends, including my husband Anil Thadani's business partner. Our husbands were not in town. We had a quiet dinner and then we moved to this club for some dancing. That's it."

 

Apparently, Sania wanted to keep her birthday low-key this year.

 

Says Raveena, "She has gone beyond the need for shor-sharaaba. Sania is a very grounded girl, very warm and sensitive. We've known one another for years. Now we bond as two married women who once in a while need to unwind the way we used to before marriage."
