Radhika Madan wishes Soorarai Pottru star Suriya on his birthday

Suriya, who received several accolades for his portrayal of a former Air Force officer in Soorarai Pottru, turned a year older. The actor received a lot of best wishes from his fans and friends from the industry. Among them was Radhika Madan who is not only a fan of the South superstar, but she will also be playing an integral role in the upcoming Hindi remake of the Tamil language blockbuster.

In a heartwarming gesture, Radhika Madan took to her social media to wish Soorarai Pottru actor Suriya Sivakumar a very happy birthday. Radhika shared a heartfelt birthday wish coupled with a throwback picture from the mahurat pooja of the Hindi remake of the Tamil film which is tentatively called Production no. 27. Both Radhika and Suriya can be seen smiling, exuding an infectious energy. While Radhika looked beautiful in a traditional yellow salwar kameez, Suriya Sivakumar looked dashing in a navy blue shirt! In her Instagram story, Radhika Madan wrote, "Happy birthday @actorsuriya! Thank you for being the sweetest!"

 

 

Radhika Madan is working on the Hindi remake of the film with Akshay Kumar. The actress had earlier opened up to Mid-Day about essaying the role originally essayed by Aparna Balamurali in the Tamil version saying, “I didn’t think about the comparisons. I love the original. But my job is not to play the same character because people have already seen that. So, I have approached the character in a different way, and brought a new flavour so that they aren’t reminded of Aparna. When I went on the set, I almost forgot about the original film.”

 

Earlier this month, the makers had announced the release date of the film which is said to be on February 16, 2024. The original movie, starring Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu, is a fictionalized version of the book ‘Simply Fly’ written on the life of Air Deccan founder Capt. G. R. Gopinath. The Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru is likely to be set in a North India backdrop and Sudha Kongara Prasad, who helmed the original Tamil film, has directed the Bollywood remake as well.
