Kriti Sanon recalls not getting work for 15 months post Bareilly Ki Barfi release: "I questioned why"
Acclaimed actress Kriti Sanon, known for her versatility and National Award-winning performance, has shed light on a challenging phase in her career. In a recent interview, she recounted a period of 15 months without work, following the success of her film Bareilly Ki Barfi.
Despite numerous accolades and box office hits, Sanon's journey hasn't been without its hurdles. "There have been times when I felt I could do more, but opportunities were scarce," she shared with NBT. "Frustration arises when you know your potential, but things are out of your control. I've experienced that."
Specifically addressing the period after Bareilly Ki Barfi, Sanon revealed, "For 15 months after the film's release, I didn't do any substantial work. It was shocking. I questioned why, even though the film was successful."
Sanon acknowledged the pressure to remain active within the industry. "Sometimes, running the film mill is crucial for progress," she stated. "Many times, you accept projects solely because of limited options. It's not ideal, but necessary."
Two years after her hiatus, Sanon found commercial success with Luka Chuppi, followed by several acclaimed projects. Currently, she is promoting her upcoming film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya alongside Shahid Kapoor. The film is slated to release on February 9.
Besides this, she also has a bunch of exciting projects in her kitty including The Crew and Do Patti. While The Crew, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu, will release in theaters this year, the makers of Do Patti are yet to share the details of its release.
