Karan Johar’s Student of the Year launched the careers of box office record breakers Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Cherished for its fashion, muscles and glamorous high schoolers, Karan Johar shockingly reveals how four days into filming it, the movie felt like a lost cause! “I was like why is this script so bad? Why are we even making it?” he admitted.

 

The show’s host also revealed about a scene that never made it to the film. “We wanted to justify how Sidharth’s character got all his trendy clothes despite being a middle-class boy. At one point,  I thought of a scene where he sells all his medals and uses the money for funding his wardrobe,” he said. However, the reason for the scene never making it to the film was the reality check of school medals never really being made of real gold or silver."

 

Koffee with Karan Season 7 with Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra will premiere at midnight on Thursday on Disney+ Hotstar.
