Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up on the Kabir Singh controversy and Kiara Advani's character in it

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh might have raked in great money, but had its share of controversies as well. Plenty of people slammed the film and its makers for creating a rather meek female character (Kabir's love interest Preeti, played by Kiara) and found Kabir to be standing for toxic masculinity. In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor Khan was quizzed about Kiara's character and what she thought about the controversy surrounding it.

Kareena said she didn't watch the film. But at the same time, she also believes that the controversy couldn't impact its box office performance, since it has earned over Rs 300 crore. This clearly indicates that many people truly loved it. Kareena called it a 'double-aged sword'.

 

At the same time, Kareena is pleased about the fact that people are discussing the film. While she doesn't believe in Kiara's character because it holds no similarity with her in real life, she is happy that people are putting their opinions across and want to be heard. However, those critical of the film are clearly outnumbered by the number of people who liked the film. We agree there!

 

Kareena, who has finished filming for Akshay Kumar's Good Newws, will also be seen alongside Irrfan Khan for Angrezi Medium, the sequel of Hindi Medium.
