Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrates heartwarming encounter with Meghna Gulzar on Daayra set

Bollywood veteran Kareena Kapoor Khan took to her social media on Thursday to share glimpses of a milestone moment meeting the legendary lyricist Gulzar on the sets of her upcoming film Daayra. The actress expressed how special the encounter was, saying, “One for the books Meeting Gulzar saab chalo for me sab kuch ho gaya.”

Daayra, which has just gone on floors, is directed by Meghna Gulzar and stars Prithviraj Sukumaran opposite Kareena. In posts shared by the actress, Gulzar is visible on the set, reinforcing the emotional significance of that meet-up for Kareena.

 

 

 

Kareena, who is celebrating 25 years in the Hindi film industry, recently announced Daayra as her 68th film. She shared images and a short video from the first day of shooting, including script reads and photo sessions, captioning the post: “Day 1, 68th film Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi … Send love and blessings.”

 

On the film’s narrative, Daayra is described as a crime-drama thriller that explores the tensions between crime, punishment, and justice in contemporary society. Audiences are already looking forward to the film’s intensity and thematic depth.

 

Speaking earlier about why she chose this project, Kareena said, “As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I'm thrilled to announce my next film Daayra, with the incredible Meghna Gulzar in the director’s chair. I've long admired her work, from Talvar to Raazi, and to be directed by her is a dream come true.” She added that collaborating with Prithviraj is “a highlight,” and described the film as having “bold, thought-provoking narrative.”

 

Meghna Gulzar, coming off the success of her film Sam Bahadur which won a National Award this year, is steering Daayra with high expectations.

 

Kareena debuted in 2000 with Refugee, a romantic drama directed by J. P. Dutta. Over the years, she’s evolved into one of the industry’s most versatile and bankable stars.
