Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10: Neetu Kapoor gets emotional as contestant Niti Taylor recreates Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt wedding with choreographer Akash Thapa

As the festive season kicks off, the upcoming episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 will be seen celebrating a special theme of the week which is ‘Kapoor Special’. Befitting the celebration, one of the most iconic stars, Neetu Kapoor will be joining the show as a celebrity guest judge. While the episode is expected to witness the legacy of the Kapoor family right from Prithviraj Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor that will involve some interesting performances, the show will also Tanzanian social media star Kili Paul making a brief appearance. Amidst all the hoopla, contestants Niti Taylor and her choreographer Akash Thapa left our celebrity judge emotional as they recreated the wedding of her son Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt with the song, ‘Khuda Jaane’.

In the ‘Kapoor Special’ episode, all the contestants were seen performing on their favorite Kapoor tracks and paying tribute to them. The episode also includes many of them recounting their memories they shared with the Kapoors. But it was the performance of Niti Taylor on ‘Khuda Jaane’ from the 2008 Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno that made Neetu Kapoor emotional. In fact, she even went on to hug the on-stage couple as she recalled Ralia’s wedding memories. Neetu Kapoor revealed that during her son Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding, the Kapoor khandaan didn’t have enough space to dance. Upon hearing this, host Maniesh Paul invited all the contestants to recreate the baraat moment and dedicated it to Bollywood’s power couple. While Neetu Kapoor was touched by this gesture, she was in for yet another sweet surprise. Now that Ranbir and Alia are parents-to-be, Madhuri gifted the grandmother-to-be Neetu Kapoor an idol of Baal Gopal.

On the other hand, the judges also spoke about their memories with the Kapoors. Madhuri shared a memory of Shashi Kapoor invariably addressing her by her surname ‘Dixit’. Karan Johar remembered how Rishi Kapoor reprimanded him in jest for addressing him as ‘uncle’ during a shoot. Not just the judges, even Zorawar chronicled his father’s bond with Rishi Kapoor, who supported all his restaurant launches and checked up on him often.

 

While Neetu Kapoor showered her love on the contestants’ performances, she also announced the names of the wild card entries - Sriti Jha, Nishant Bhat, and Ada Malik who will now be competing against the rest of the contestants on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10. The show airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 8pm on Colors and is also available on the streaming platform VOOT.
