James Gunn REACTS to Govinda’s Superman scene from Dariya Dil

James Gunn, known for directing Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, recently surprised his fans by sharing a unique and unexpected video clip on Instagram. The Hollywood filmmaker, famous for blending humor and action in his superhero films, posted a video featuring Bollywood star Govinda dressed as Superman. This amusing clip, from the song ‘Tu Mera Superman’ in the 1988 film Dariya Dil, features Govinda dancing alongside actress Kimi Katkar, who appears in a Spider-Woman costume.

Gunn accompanied the clip with a handshake emoji and the caption "Marvel and DC," humorously acknowledging the mash-up of two of the biggest comic book universes in the scene.

 

 

The Iconic Song From Dariya Dil

 

Dariya Dil, released in 1988, starred Govinda, Kimi Katkar, Raj Kiran, and Roshni. Directed by K. Ravi Shankar and produced by Vimal Kumar, the film tells the story of Dhaniram, a wealthy industrialist, and the schemes plotted by Gogi, an income tax officer, and his siblings to seize Dhaniram’s fortune.

 

The memorable track ‘Tu Mera Superman’ was sung by Mohammed Aziz, Sadhana Sargam, and Chorus. It has since become a cult favorite, especially for its quirky depiction of Superman in Bollywood.

 

On the work front, James Gunn recently wrapped filming his highly anticipated Superman movie, which is scheduled for release in July next year. David Corenswet will play the role of a young Clark Kent in the reboot. Gunn took to social media to announce the completion of the shoot, writing, “And that’s a wrap. God bless our cast and crew, whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life. I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much."
