Hungama Play launches ‘Love ka Panga’, a new Hindi original romantic comedy show starring Asha Negi and Ansh Bagri

Hungama Play, a leading video on demand platform owned by Hungama Digital Media, today launched ‘Love ka Panga’, a new Hungama Original. A romantic comedy starring popular actors, Asha Negi and Ansh Bagri, the show is shot in the scenic mountains of Manali and is a hilarious take on modern day love and romance. The story revolves around a modern city girl who wants to enjoy a peaceful holiday, a desi munda who thinks he’s the coolest dude on earth, and a series of chance encounters that change their lives. Produced by ABUZS Original, the show is directed by Nitesh Singh.

Neha (Asha Negi), a sophisticated, well-educated Delhi girl on her first solo trip to Manali plans to enjoy a quiet holiday in the beautiful mountains. Sumit (Ansh Bagri), on the other hand, a loud desi Haryanvi chhora, intends to live it up and make the most of his time. When a series of unplanned encounters bring them together, their respective plans go for a toss. He thinks he is being helpful but she considers him a chep. He thinks she has too much attitude and she thinks all he needs is a chamaat. However, somewhere between all the misunderstandings, they form a friendship that could blossom into something else. But does it lead to their happy ending? Can they overcome their differences? Or do destiny and fate have other plans for them?

 

Speaking about the show, Siddhartha Roy, COO, Hungama Digital Media said, “The demand for original content across our extended network has increased exponentially over the 2 years and we expect it to increase by 3x over the next year. Our slate of Hungama Originals is primed to cater to this demand with a varied range of genres, languages, narratives and storytelling techniques. Love ka Panga features a strong cast, beautiful locales and a story that will be relatable for couples across regions. We intend to continue with our strategy of launching a new original every 4 to 6 weeks, giving each of them a wide release through our global distribution network.”

 

Speaking about the series, Nitesh Singh, the director of the show said, “The show explores a youthful modern day love story that is certain to find an instant connect with the viewers. Shot in the beautiful mountains of Manali, the show takes the viewers on a roller coaster trip with its two lead characters – Neha and Sumit who couldn’t be more different from each other. One is a classy Delhi girl while the other is a desi Haryanvi munda. Their banter and interactions are sure to keep the audiences entertained throughout the show.”

 

Speaking about his role, actor Ansh Bagri said, “I am glad to have worked in a show that is as interesting as Love ka Panga. The show gives viewers everything that they would want from a romantic comedy without a single dull moment. The character I play, Sumit, is a loud Haryanvi chhora who doesn’t think twice before saying something, but is not bad at heart. His innocence and authenticity is sure to win over the audiences. It was exciting to work with Asha Negi and Nitesh Singh on this project and I look forward to the feedback from Hungama Play’s users.”

 

The show is now available to stream on Hungama Play, Hungama’s video on demand platform. Love ka Panga is also available to stream through Hungama Play on MX Player, Airtel Xstream App, Vi Movies and TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Tata Sky Binge, DishSMRT Stick, ISPs like Meghbela Broadband, Alliance Broadband, ACT Fibernet and Netplus, and Smart TVs like TCL, OnePlus TV, Sony BRAVIA, CVTE, Toshiba and CloudWalker. Additionally, Hungama’s association with Xiaomi will enable consumers to watch the show via Hungama Play on Mi TV. It will also be available to stream on SonyLIV and Flipkart Video at a later date.
