At the ongoing Red Sea Film Festival 2024, Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan had a dream-come-true moment when she met Hollywood actress Emily Blunt. Kareena revealed that she admires Emily’s work and had a “fangirl moment” at the event. “I had to introduce myself as an Indian actor and ask for a picture,” Kareena shared during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Kareena's Desire to Play Emily’s Iconic Role

 

Kareena Kapoor Khan also expressed her wish to step into Emily Blunt’s shoes for the role of Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada. “It’s a toss-up as to which role I really want to play because I think I can ace both,” Kareena admitted, referring to Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep’s characters in the film.

 

The Jaane Jaan actress added, “I love both characters so much,” hinting at her admiration for the movie's powerful storytelling and iconic performances.

 

Representing India on a Global Stage

 

Reflecting on her participation at the international film festival, Kareena expressed gratitude for being among acclaimed global actors. “It’s nice to be here, seated with some of the most talented individuals in the entertainment industry,” she said. Kareena also acknowledged the responsibility of representing India on such a prestigious platform.

 

“I want to make sure my choices continue to reflect well on my journey as an actor. This motivates me to look for better scripts,” Kareena shared with a laugh.

While the actress dazzles at the Red Sea Film Festival, her fans are excited about her upcoming projects. Kareena was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and is gearing up to celebrate 25 years of her acting debut in 2025, marking a milestone since her debut in Refugee.
