EXCLUSIVE: "There's no definition of success" - says Jersey actress Mrunal Thakur on being part of Rs. 100 crore film previously
Actress Mrunal Thakur is all set for his upcoming film Jersey which is scheduled to have a theatrical release on December 31. The movie stars her along with Shahid Kapoor and Pankaj Kapur. Mrunal talked about her definition of success and being a part of Rs. 100cr film.
In a recent exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, when asked about how Mrunal defines success in Bollywood, the actress said, “I feel very blessed to be entering Bollywood in this time because when I entered, people were congratulating me saying ‘Congratulations Mrunal, you are a part of Rs. 100 cr film and I was like okay. I don’t know how to take that but was my performance good, that was the first answer I wanted to hear.”
She continued, “Then as the time passed, I realized there were films which were making more than Rs. 200-300 cr films but you couldn’t watch like you literally have to keep your head [in good space]. It’s just an entertainment film. For me, there was first of all no definition of success; it was just a matter of like you need to deliver good performance.”
Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur also talked about the music of Jersey, OTT revolution, and how TV played big role in popularity of Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
Jersey is a sports drama film written and directed by GowtamTinnanuri, a remake of his 2019 Telugu film of the same title. The story is about a 36-year-old cricketer named Arjun who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago, now aiming to play for Indian team.The film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments and Brat Films.
