EXCLUSIVE: Kabir Khan shares his experience of working with Salman Khan; says, “He would sulk, he would argue, but he never disrespected”, watch

Salman Khan and Kabir Khan are indeed one of those actor-director duos, who have given blockbuster films. For the unversed, Salman and Kabir collaborated for Ek Tha Tiger, Bajarangi Bhaijaan, and Tubelight. However, post the poor performance of Tubelight, the duo did not come on board for a project. While talking to Bollywood Hungama, Kabir Khan opened up on his equation with Salman Khan and shared his experience of working on their first collab, Ek Tha Tiger.

“You cannot take away Salman Khan from my filmography. At the position that I am because of my association with Salman. Some of my biggest films are with him. I have had a good working relationship with him. I really enjoyed the films I made with him. He’s full of ideas, he would always comes and give suggestions. I never looked at it as interference. I’m very happy that Salman Khan is thinking about what I’ve told him,” he said.

 

He further continued and added, “There have been times when we’ve not agreed about things, and we’ve argued and argued, and he has sulked, but it’s always been… Either I am able to convince him, or he has been able to convince me. I must say this, and it’s not something I’ve mentioned before. My first film with him, the first film in the Tiger series, was my first film after New York. Kabul Express was a successful film, but not in terms of the way you talk about mainstream cinema. New York is a successful film, but again, not at the levels Salman has seen.”

 

He concluded by saying, “Never in all our arguments — and that film was the one where we had the most arguments — did Salman take that position that ‘Listen, I’m Salman Khan. I’ve made 50 blockbusters. You’ve made two films.’ And that’s an amazing quality to have. He would sulk, he would argue, but badtameezi kabhi nahi (he was never disrespectful).”

 

 

Coming to the professional front, Kabir’s last directorial was Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83. Meanwhile, Salman broke the internet with his cameo appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release Pathaan.
