EXCLUSIVE: John Abraham drops an interesting secret about Dostana beach scene no one knew; deets inside

John Abraham recently shared an exclusive trivia with Bollywood Hungama about one of the most iconic moments in his career - the famous beach scene from Dostana, where he emerges from the water in yellow trunks. The scene, which became a pop culture sensation, cemented his status as a Bollywood heartthrob. However, what many don’t know is the unexpected challenge behind filming it.

Opening up about the shoot, John revealed a surprising detail: “I have to give you a piece of trivia on this and you're the first person to know. I swear, I'm not lying but I didn't have clothes in those because there were no clothes. I hardly wear anything (in the film). So, I still remember that scene that we shot was on a beach in Miami called Hollywood Beach. In that scene at about 7:38 in the morning, I was walking out of the water, and the water was muddy and sandy. So, I was skinny dipping. And just before the shot, I asked for my trunks, and they were thrown to me to hold, and I walked.”

 

 

The 2008 film Dostana, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Karan Johar, featured John alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. While the movie was widely appreciated for its humor and progressive take on relationships, John’s beach sequence particularly stood out, earning him massive attention from fans and media alike.

 

Meanwhile, talking about John Abraham, the actor recently featured in The Diplomat, inspired by Indian diplomat J.P. Singh. Also starring Sadia Khateeb, the film is directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah. Set against the backdrop of India–Pakistan relations, exploring themes of diplomacy and the personal conflicts faced by diplomats, the film released in theatres on March 14.
