EXCLUSIVE: "Aamir said that the mounting of this film is much bigger than any other film you're doing and just do this," Saif Ali Khan on doing Dil Chahta Hai

Twenty years ago, Dil Chahta Hai, a film that introduced a realistic portrayal and changed the approach towards cinema released. Even after 20 years of its release, it is still fresh in the minds of the audiences and movie-buffs. The film had the star cast of Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna in the leads. Saif Ali Khan during many of his interviews had revealed that he had various apprehensions in doing the film. However, it turned out to be a turning point in his life and changed the dynamics of his career. It was none other than Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood Aamir Khan who'd convinced the actor to do the film.

Recently, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Saif Ali Khan talked about doing Dil Chahta Hai and reveals how Aamir Khan convinced him to do this film.

 

Said Ali Khan stated, "It really was a starting point and I got the lessons to learn and I did it. I think I was doing a couple of small movies where I was playing a lead and I did think before signing the film and I had a chat. I remember I was sitting with Aamir somewhere in Bandra in a car. And he asked, are you doing a movie? because he was trying to get a cast that he was interested in for his film and I think he cares about the project holistically. Just maybe I've learned a little bit about that. Aamir said that the mounting of this film is much bigger than any other film you're doing and just do this. And of course, I'm glad I did it."
