Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi first official poster reveals first look of Ewan McGregor's Star Wars return; series premieres on May 25
The first poster for Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi has officially been released, showing Ewan McGregor's long-awaited return to the role in Star Wars’ story, first time since 2005’s Revenge of the Sith. The series is set to premiere Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
In the new poster revealed for Disney's upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series, the titular Jedi can be seen walking the sands of Tatooine landscape, wandering through the desert having grown out his hair and beard during his exile. He also appears to be holding a lightsaber in his right hand, although it doesn't appear to be his own.
As The Direct publication mentioned, fans are already theorizing that this could be Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber that he left on Mustafar in Episode III, which comes more into play as Obi-Wan and Vader meet each other again in this show.
Disney and Lucasfilm released the first official poster after announcing Obi-Wan Kenobi’s debut on Disney+ on May 25, 2022. The limited series also features Prequel Trilogy co-star Hayden Christensen in his return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
The epic Disney+ adventure is set to take place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and his mission to watch Luke Skywalker on Tatooine seems to be where the show begins. Following The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be Disney's third Star Wars TV show in a row to be set primarily on Tatooine.
