Director Anees Bazmee analyses Akshay Kumar’s box office downturn: “There can be times when he chose the wrong script…”
As the film industry adjusts to the post-pandemic landscape, Akshay Kumar has encountered challenges in maintaining his box office dominance. Director Anees Bazmee weighed in on Kumar's recent string of setbacks, attributing them to various factors. Bazmee highlighted that while Kumar's pre-pandemic reputation as a hit-maker was well-established, his recent endeavours have faced mixed results, prompting analysis and speculation about the reasons behind his fluctuating box office performance.
Despite Kumar's enduring stardom and versatile skills, Bazmee acknowledged the reality of occasional career lows, emphasizing the cyclical nature of success and failure in the film industry. Bazmee praised Kumar's multifaceted talent but also suggested that missteps in script selection or collaborations could contribute to underwhelming outcomes. He remarked, “There can be times when he chose the wrong script or the wrong people to work with who don’t do justice to his talent. I don’t know the exact reason.”
Bazmee, known for successful collaborations with Kumar on films like Welcome and Singh Is Kinng, reminisced about their past projects and lauded Kumar's professionalism and punctuality. Despite acknowledging the challenges, Bazmee expressed gratitude for the enriching experiences shared while working with Kumar.
With Bazmee's upcoming project Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on the horizon, fans eagerly anticipate the director's next collaboration with Kumar and hope for a resurgence in the actor's box office fortunes.
