Dia Mirza opens up on her debut music video; says, “It was composed by M M Keeravani”

Dia Mirza won a lot of hearts in her debut Bollywood movie Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. But the actress had to struggle a lot before bagging her first film. She performed as a background dancer in the Tamil movie En Swasa Kaatre song ‘Jumbalakka.’ Dia told ETimes, “I played as what they call an extra in a song. It made me enough money to go and shoot my first professional portfolio.”

She further added, “We shot for the song in Ramoji Rao Film City. I was there with 4-5 friends and we had a great time. Raju Sundaram was dancing, Mink was part of the song, it was a great experience. And we earned good money so that we could go back and do the things that we wanted to do.”

 

Dia Mirza also discussed the specifics of her debut music video, which she shot when she was only 15 years old. She said, “It was composed by M M Keeravani. We shot the video entirely in Hyderabad. I have been looking for the song on YouTube.”

 

Mirza made her Bollywood debut in 2001 with the film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, which succeeding in impressing the audience, especially the youth. She has since appeared in several other films, including Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., and Sanju. In addition to her acting career, she has also produced several films, including Love Breakups Zindagi and Bobby Jasoos.

 

The film Bheed, which debuted on Friday, featured Dia as Geetanjali, an affluent woman who is stranded on the motorway due to the pandemic-induced lockdown and unable to reach her child. Anubhav Sinha's black-and-white film centres on the difficulties that people encountered nationwide while the country was under lockdown because of the COVID outbreak.

 

Next, Dia Mirza will appear in the road trip drama Dhak Dhak, alongside Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanjana Sanghi. Taapsee Pannu’s production house Outsiders Films is backing the movie.
