“If Dhurandhar earns Rs 1000 crore…”: Rakesh Bedi recalls Ranveer Singh’s words on his last day on set

Dhurandhar The Revenge hit theatres on March 19, 2026, following months of anticipation and a strong buzz across social media. The Aditya Dhar directorial has opened to positive expectations, with trade experts predicting a strong box office run for the sequel to Dhurandhar.

Amid the film’s release, actor Rakesh Bedi, who plays Karachi-based politician Jameel Jamali, shared a memorable moment from the sets involving co-star Ranveer Singh.

 

During an interaction on India Podcasts, Bedi revealed that Singh addressed the cast and crew on his final day of shooting and praised him publicly. Recalling the moment, Bedi said, “Ranveer said that if the film makes Rs 1,000 crores at the box office then Rs 500 crores will be because of Rakesh ji.”

 

The veteran actor added that he initially tried to brush off the comment, but Singh stood by his words. Reflecting on the experience, Bedi said, “What more can a character actor ask for? The director even said he would cry on my last day of shooting - it created an amazing atmosphere throughout the film.”

 

Dhurandhar The Revenge is a Hindi-language spy action thriller backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun. The sequel also features an exciting cameo of Yami Gautam Dhar, who is also the wife of the writer-director of the film.

 

The story follows an undercover Indian intelligence agent navigating high-risk missions across the border while confronting larger national threats. Positioned as the final chapter in the Dhurandhar series, the film has generated strong early interest among audiences.
