Coronavirus outbreak: Radhika Apte details her experience travelling to the UK; says immigration officers have no information on closing borders
With the coronavirus pandemic, several countries have put travel bans to several countries. Recently, Indian government announced that the Indian people abroad have to stay put until further notice. Meanwhile, actress Radhika Apte, made it to London safely, amid border restrictions and immigration checks. The actress is married to London-based musician Benedict Taylor.
The actress took to her Instagram handle to share her experience flying to London from India. “For all the many msgs I received from friends and colleagues with concern and curiosity. I’m back in London safely. There was no issue at immigration. It was rather empty and had a wonderful chat with them! The Heathrow express was literally empty and barely anyone at Paddington either. That’s all for now! Thank you for all msgs xx," Radhika wrote.
She also said that the immigration officers had no information regarding the UK closing borders. “BA flight was full! (though two days ago when I went to India from London it was empty.) More ps. The immigration officers had no information to share regarding UK closing borders yet,” she further wrote.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, actor Sonam Kapoor also spoke about her immigration experience from the UK to India. She informed that when she and her husband Anand were leaving London there was no screening which left them shocked. However, the actress said that they were screened at the Delhi airport.
