Indian filmmakers are making a big splash at the 65th Cannes Film Festival as many independent Indian films are being Check Out: Indian Filmmakers bond at Cannes 2012

 

showcased at the festival this year.


 

Directors Suman Mukhopadhyay, Anurag Kashyap, Nila Madhab Panda, Onir and actor-producer Sanjay Suri participated in a session at the festival's

 

Producer's Network as a part of the Indian contingent. They bonded big time at the festival.



 

Bengali filmmaker Suman Mukhopadhyay's three films namely Herbert, Chaturanga and Mahanagar@Kolktata were selected to

 

be screened at the festival.


 

National Award winning film, I Am Kalam director Nila Madhab Panda's second film Jalpari-The Desert Mermaid, which deals with the

 

issue of female foeticide, was lauded with a standing ovation by the buyers and audience from around the world.


 

Anurag Kashyap's two-part revenge saga Gangs Of Wasseypur has also been selected as a part of The Directors' Fortnight, while his home

 

production, Vasan Bala's Peddlers has been selected in competition at the Critics' Week.
