BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, GOT7 & more are the most tweeted about K-pop accounts globally in 2020

We are all living through a unique moment in time, 2020 is a year like no other but it definitely didn’t cancel entertainment, not on Twitter. The genre made its presence known on the service more than ever before, fulfilling many essential human needs – from bringing people together and creating online communities to drowning out the monotony of everyday life. People came to Twitter to start, read, and join conversations about what's happening. In the absence of live entertainment, fans leveraged the service to connect directly to their favourite celebrities, artists, and influencers. They tweeted their love for their artists, music, movies amongst many other things. On December 8, Twitter released its annual list of what was being discussed on the social media platform.

 

BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, GOT7 & more are the most tweeted about K-pop accounts globally in 2020

 

Amongst the Korean music, K-pop acts, global popstars BTS was the most-tweeted-about artist in 2020. Followed by EXO, girl group BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, GOT7, NCT 127, TXT, ATEEZ, Treasure, and Stray Kids. Interestingly, BTS was also the most mentioned K-pop act in India, according to the last survey by Twitter.

 

 

The trends were identified based on the total number of Retweets / Likes / Quote Tweets by Twitter accounts in India between January 1 to November 15, 2020.
