Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul NOT expecting first child, claims report

Recent speculation regarding Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul expecting their first child has been dispelled, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The rumours stemmed from a comment made by Athiya's father, Suniel Shetty, during an appearance on the dance reality show Dance Deewane.

When host Bharti Singh playfully asked Suniel what kind of grandfather he'd be, Suniel responded jokingly, "Yes, next season when I come (On Dance Deewane), I will be walking on the stage like a nana" (grandfather).

 

A source close to the couple has clarified that Suniel's remark was intended as lighthearted banter. "There is no truth in the buzz," the source stated. "Suniel's nana remark was said in jest and in a very informal way. His remarks have been misinterpreted by all," he added.

 

The source further revealed Suniel's surprise at the widespread speculation. "Even he is surprised by how his comment has been perceived by everyone. In fact, he didn't want this buzz at all. It was unintentional."

 

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul reportedly began dating in 2019. They have maintained a private relationship throughout, and their wedding ceremony was an intimate affair with close family and friends. Neither Athiya Shetty nor KL Rahul have publicly commented on the rumours.
