“Amitabh Bachchan is the quintessential action hero for all of us,” says Suniel Shetty

Suniel Shetty is currently getting rave reviews for his recently released action show Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega. The web series, which also stars Barkha Bisht, Rahul Dev, Teena Singh and Karanvir Sharma, started streaming on Amazon miniTV app from March 22.

The show sees Shetty play an action-oriented character. The actor has always been known for being an action star, right from his debut film Balwaan in 1992, although he has impressed the audiences in other genres too.

 

Despite Shetty being considered an apt actor when it comes to action even after crossing 60, he considers the veteran star Amitabh Bachchan as his idol and inspiration in this regard. “Amitabh Bachchan is the quintessential action hero for all of us. He is everything when it comes to action, be it the action scenes or dialogue delivery,” said Shetty in a statement.

 

Last month, Shetty honestly confessed that, apart from getting to do action after a long time, he accepted Hunter also because he didn’t have any project in hand at that time. Speaking to OTT Play, he said, “I didn’t take much time to say yes to this project, because, honestly speaking, mere paas kaam nahi tha (I did not have work). I wanted to do something in the action genre, and I was not getting to do that. You know, for the last few years, all I was offered was roles that required a hot-looking father, or elderly man romancing a woman, etc. I do not want to create such an image of onscreen. As an actor, I love doing action. And age is never a factor. I knew that I could still do action, all I needed was an opportunity.”
