Akshay Oberoi talks about his experience of working with Sara Ali Khan in Gaslight; says, “Nobody around her can have a bad day”

A few years ago, Akshay Oberoi, who has recently been featured in a number of intriguing OTT projects, had the opportunity to collaborate with Saif Ali Khan. He will now be featured onscreen alongside Saif’s daughter Sara Ali Khan in the film Gaslight.

In a recent interview Akshay shared his experience with Gaslight co-star Sara Ali Khan. He told ETimes, “Sara is a bundle of energy on the sets. She keeps hopping from one place to another, and we would not have wanted it any other way. Nobody around her can have a bad day. Also, she’s a very hard-working actor, so it’s great to feed off such energy on sets.”

 

It's interesting to note that Akshay and Sara Ali Khan's father, Saif Ali Khan, appeared together onscreen in Kaalakaandi in 2018. The actor claimed that Saif and he had spent more time together than Sara and he did. He said, “I spent more time with Saif, as it was just the two of us shooting together for 20 days. I discovered that we had similar tastes in music and movies. On the other hand, Gaslight features many more actors. It’s more of an ensemble hanging out.”

 

Comparing the father and daughter's traits, Akshay said, “They both have a lot of energy. Saif and Sara are humourous and constantly crack jokes, which helps lighten the mood on the set. They are a lot of fun to work with. I think Saif is one of the best actors of our time and is hugely experienced. I am sure Sara has seen her father’s passion and inherited it, too.”

 

Previously, a source had revealed to the same publication that Sara took workshops for the film. “Sara has been currently prepping for Gaslight, before it goes on floors, near remote areas of Rajkot. She will be donning a completely different avatar from what we have seen before, which she wants to get into the skin of, before she reaches on sets. She has currently been attending various workshops and readings with (director) Pawan Kriplani, and the writers, and working on the look tests for the film,” said the source.

 

The release date for the film Gaslight, which is produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Pawan Kriplani, has not yet been disclosed. The on-screen collaboration of the actors Vikrant Massey, Sara Ali Khan, and Chitrangda Singh takes place in this project. OTT is reportedly where the movie will be released.

 

As far as his career is concerned, Akshay Oberoi made his Bollywood debut in the 2010 film Isi Life Mein, produced by Rajshri Productions. He later worked in films such as Piku, Laal Rang, Fitoor, Kaalakaandi, and others.
