Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi make sky-high entry at college event for ‘Bhooth Bangla’ promotions
Promotions for Bhooth Bangla took an unusual turn this week as Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi made a dramatic aerial entry at a college campus event. Videos from the venue show the actors descending onto the stage as a track from the film played in the background, drawing loud cheers from students gathered at the venue.
The campus appearance is part of the promotional run-up to the horror-comedy, which marks Akshay’s reunion with filmmaker Priyadarshan after over a decade. The actor-director duo has previously collaborated on several popular comedies, and their coming together again has become one of the talking points around the film.
Eyewitness clips from the event suggest a turnout running into thousands, with students crowding the grounds and chanting the actors’ names. On stage, Akshay kept the interaction light, exchanging banter with the audience, while Wamiqa joined in for dance moments and quick exchanges with fans. The energy of the event leaned more toward a live show than a routine promotional stop.
Bhooth Bangla also stars Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, the film blends horror elements with comedy, a space Priyadarshan is revisiting with this project.
While plot details remain largely undisclosed, the makers appear to be leaning into large-scale, youth-focused promotions to build momentum ahead of release. Bhooth Bangla is slated to hit theatres on April 10, 2026.
