Akshay Kumar says he had 2-3 break ups prior to meeting Twinkle Khanna; talks about dealing with heartbreaks: “There was so much of anger…”

Akshay Kumar, who has been promoting his upcoming film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, recently delved into his personal life on a new episode of The Ranveer Show podcast. The 54-year-old star, known for his action-packed roles on screen, shared insights into his romantic journey, shedding light on his past before finding love with Twinkle Khanna. Kumar, who tied the knot with Twinkle on January 17, 2001, revealed that prior to meeting his life partner, he experienced several breakups.

In the podcast episode, Kumar candidly acknowledged facing "two-three" breakups before his relationship with Twinkle blossomed. The couple shares two children – son Aarav and daughter Nitara. On the podcast, he said, when asked if he can give an advice to those who experience heartbreaks, he said, “Mere saath jab break-up hua tha, 2-3 baar hua hai (Whenever I had a breakup, I had 2-3 of them), I used to exercise more. Channelise it. Because there was so much of anger, so you have to channelise it.”

 

“I get into working out more. Khaana bhi daba ke khana that (I would eat a lot). I think that is a way a martial artist would deal with a break-up. I believe that is the only way we understand it (heartbreak),” he added.

 

Akshay Kumar was linked to actresses Raveena Tandon, Shilpa Shetty and Pooja Batra. Raveena and Akshay even got engaged in the late 90s and later parted ways.

Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar. The film is slated to release on 10th April 2024 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Starring Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Alaya F and Manushi Chillar in pivotal roles.
