As I Want To Talk completes its first anniversary, Abhishek Bachchan has looked back at the film that reshaped his artistic journey and opened an important cultural conversation. The actor shared a reflective note on social media, marking one year since the emotionally charged drama first released.

In his post, Bachchan wrote, “One year of I Want To Talk, and I’m genuinely grateful for every story, every silence, and every honest conversation it brought my way. This journey has taught me more about people and myself than I expected. Thank you for listening, for sharing, and for allowing a simple idea to become something meaningful.”

 

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, I Want To Talk follows a story anchored in quiet moments and internal struggles, centring on themes of vulnerability, unspoken pain, and the human need to be understood. Bachchan’s portrayal of Arjun—marked by restraint and emotional clarity—was widely recognised as one of the most nuanced performances of his career.

 

 

 

The film received acclaim on international platforms, earning awards across multiple categories and drawing attention for its sensitive treatment of mental and emotional turmoil. Critics applauded its refusal to dramatise suffering, instead presenting a narrative shaped around stillness, reflection, and the value of being heard. Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that Abhishek will be recalling the journey of becoming Arjun Shoojit Sircar during IFP's 15th edition.
