The iconic film Rock On! marks its 15-year anniversary, movie, which has etched its place in the hearts of audiences. It's a film that holds a special significance for the film’s director Abhishek Kapoor, who affectionately dubs it his "closest to the heart" creation. Released in 2008, Rock On! wasn't just a film; it was a cultural phenomenon that resonated with music enthusiasts and moviegoers alike. Set against the backdrop of friendships, dreams, and the power of music, the film showcased a narrative that struck a chord with an entire generation.
In his heartfelt tribute, Abhishek Kapoor shares, "15 years and it feels just like yesterday.. Every year, this day, since its release this movie has been celebrated by its audiences on whom it made an indelible mark. Shifting the paradigm of Bollywood's music-centric scene, the movie emerged as a pioneer of narratives that dared to defy convention. Rock On! weaved its magic through soul-stirring melodies and a mesmerizing storyline, cementing its place as a timeless gem that continually ignites inspiration and resonates with emerging audiences. The film also won two national awards for Best Film and Best Supporting Actor Arjun Rampal.
Starring Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny, and Purab Kohli as members of the Mumbai-based grunge rock band, "Magik", the film also starred Prachi Desai. Shahana Goswami, and Koel Purie among others.
