Radhe Box Office: The Salman Khan starrer collects Rs. 1.52 lakhs in 4 weeks; collections get a boost with the release in Gujarat

By Fenil Seta -

The Salman Khan-starrer, Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai, has had a sporadic theatrical release in India due to the deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. In its release week in mid-May, it got a release in 3 theatres in the state of Tripura. Then from June 11 onwards, it had a release in Enjoy Drive-in cinema in Malegaon and Khinvasara Cineplex (formerly Apsara Cinema) in Aurangabad. From June 18, the Malegaon theatre discontinued the film. Khinvasara Cineplex continued playing the film until June 27 after which theatres in Maharashtra were asked to shut again due to the fear over the Delta Plus variant. The same day, however, cinemas opened in Gujarat. And Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai got a release in 3 cinemas in the state - in The Friday Cinema multiplex and Rupam Cinema in Surat, and Amber Cinema in Jamnagar.

And it's a pleasant surprise to know that a small but significant number of audiences went to enjoy the film on the big screen. An industry insider says, "Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai is the most trolled film in recent times. It has been out on digital since May 13. Yet, wherever it is getting a release, it is finding takers. Moreover, the producers didn't publicize its release in Gujarat. The theatres didn't even get posters and publicity material to attract people. Yet, moviegoers found out and went to see the film."

At Amber Cinema in Jamnagar, Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai's shows had 64 admits while on Monday, 41 tickets were sold. On Tuesday, despite it being a weekday, 68 people came to watch the film. On Wednesday, 58 tickets were sold while on Thursday, 57 ticket sales were reported. Rupam Cinema in Surat, too, managed to sell a sufficient amount of tickets.

However, at The Friday Cinema, Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai had a poor response. On Sunday it sold 22 tickets while on Monday, 24 people came to see the film. The shows were cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday due to zero footfalls. On Thursday, the shows were played as 8 people came to see the film. A local source told us, "Unlike the other 2 theatres, The Friday Cinema had to keep ticket prices a bit higher. This is because the distributors asked for a higher share."

A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, "Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai collected around Rs. 10,471 on Sunday, Rs. 7,626 on Monday, Rs. 5,018 on Tuesday, Rs. 4,706 on Wednesday and Rs. 5,950 on Thursday. These are approximate figures." The collections of Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai now stand at Rs. 1,52,720. Earlier, the Sunday collections were reported to be Rs. 1,763 as it didn't include the earnings from the cinema halls in Gujarat.

All 3 cinema theatres have decided to continue playing Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai from Friday, July 2. The collections might remain steady or even improve this week as Uttar Pradesh cinema halls are all set to resume operations from Monday, July 5.
