Padmaavat’s weekend collection surpasses lifetime business of Dilwale, Tiger Zinda Hai in Australia; next target Dhoom 3

 

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmaavat starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor has been setting the box office register jingling since its release. In the overseas market of Australia Padmaavat has been doing unbelievable business. In fact, the film, has managed to draw in a staggering A$ 1.72 mil. [Rs. 8.88 cr.] over its opening weekend to become the highest opening weekend Bollywood grosser in this market. If that wasn’t enough, another feat that the business of Padmaavat has achieved in this market is that its weekend business has surpassed the lifetime collections of a few Bollywood big ticket releases that hit screens earlier.

 

Though it may sound unbelievable, the opening weekend business of Padmaavat has crossed the lifetime business of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale that had collected A$ 1.087 mil. [Rs. 5.60 cr.], Bajirao Mastani that had collected A$ 1.134 mil. [Rs. 5.84 cr.], Salman Khan’s Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected A$ 1.35 mil. [Rs. 6.95 cr.], A$ 1.60 mil. [Rs. 8.24 cr.] and A$ 1.70 mil. [Rs. 8.75 cr.] respectively.

 

Currently, since Padmaavat still continues to run in the Australian market all eyes are set on watching if the film surpasses the next target which is Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 that had collected A$ 1.75 mil. [Rs. 9.03 cr]
