Box Office: Sharman Joshi's Wajah Tum Ho has a slightly better weekend than his 1920 London

 

Sharman Joshi is the most saleable name in Wajah Tum Ho and hence it is prudent that the collections for the film are compared with the last release that the actor had. 1920 London had managed a weekend of Rs. 7.73 crore. Of course it was a delayed release and given the franchise quotient, it could have covered a greater distance had it released on time. Nonetheless, if one sees the weekend collections of Wajah Tum Ho, they are a tad better with Rs. 8.5 crore* coming in.Box Office: Sharman Joshi's Wajah Tum Ho has a slightly better weekend than his 1920 London

 

In fact if one compares the weekend numbers of the film with other releases of 2016 that had opened in the same range, this is how Wajah Tum Ho stands:

 

Te3N – Rs. 11.13 crore

 

Happy Bhag Jayegi – Rs. 10.71 crore

 

Madaari – Rs. 9.75 crore

 

Wajah Tum Ho – Rs. 8.5 crore*

 

Freaky Ali – Rs. 8.5 crore

 

Great Grand Masti – Rs. 8.5 crore

 

1920 London – Rs. 7.73 crore

 

Rock On 2 – Rs. 7.01 crore

 

Of course a much better outcome was expected from Wajah Tum Ho, considering the fact that director Vishal Pandya had scored huge with his last release, Hate Story 3. However, demonetization, delay in release, average content and mixed word of mouth meant that the numbers didn't quite hit the roof.

 

That said, the collections are still fair if one considers the economics, as a result of which the makers [T-Series] are already in profits. All that is expected now from the film is to stay reasonably stable over the weekdays so that the lifetime total of around Rs. 13-15 crore turns out to be a possibility.
