Box Office - Bollywood STRIKES BACK as Pathaan goes past Baahubali: The Conclusion (Hindi) lifetime too

Bollywood has struck huge, and how. Ever since Dangal, one waited for a true blue Bollywood film to come and do huge business at the box office. Somehow that was just not happening. Yes, there were a few Rs 300 Crores Club blockbusters that were coming in but somehow the benchmark set by Aamir Khan’s biggie seemed too big to be surpassed in the eventual run.

In the meanwhile, Baahubali: The Conclusion ended up reigning supreme with just its Hindi version netting Rs 511 crores. This was, in fact, good news for the industry as it showed that numbers like these were possible. Higher benchmarks are always good for growth and last year when KGF: Chapter 2 also ran riot with its Hindi version collecting Rs 434.70 crores in the times when pandemic was the running excuse for other big budget Bollywood films not doing well, there was desperation within the Hindi film industry too to deliver something truly big.

 

Well, this has now happened with Pathaan with Rs 529.86 crores been collected already after Friday numbers jumped again to Rs 1.07 crore. Finally, the landmark has been crossed in style and the best part is that there is more that will come in as well since it’s not going away anywhere as yet. The weekend will see a rise in collections again and then while Monday and Tuesday would be open too, Wednesday will see Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar releasing. That said, since it’s Holi holiday, one can expect good collections for Pathaan on this day as well. Eventually, it should cross Rs 520 crores in just the Hindi version while overall too it should hit Rs 540 crores as it has already accumulated Rs 529.86 crores so far.
