Box Office - Akshay Kumar's Rustom continues its winning spree

 

The 'baazi' is on for Rustom. After taking a very good start [Rs. 14.11 crore], the film had further spike in collections on Saturday. The film managed to bring in Rs. 15.75 crore* more and with this, the collections now stand at Rs. 29.86 crore*. There is no stopping the film currently and it has to be seen if today this Tinu Suresh Desai affair will see a jump huge enough to go past the Rs. 50 crore mark.Box Office - Akshay Kumar's Rustom continues its winning spree

 

That said, even if such a huge milestone is not achieved in the three day weekend, the fact remains that Rustom has emerged as a good success already. The Akshay Kumar starrer didn't just take a good lead on Friday itself, it has now managed to consolidate all the more by becoming the first choice of cine-goers. While reports are already coming in that the number of shows are being increased for the Zee Studios and KriArj Entertainment film, the makers are already gearing up to pop the champagne for the clean success that Rustom has turned out to be.

 

Rustom turning out to be a success is good news for the industry as the month of August has started on a winning note. A good earner benefits all involved, be it the makers, exhibitors, distributors or technicians. In that aspect, Akshay Kumar is continuing to maintain his status as a one man industry. He is continuing to generate business across the supply chain and with Rustom, he has now done this thrice in seven months (after Airlift and Housefull 3). His next big release is Jolly LLB 2 in February 2017 and while that date is six months away, it is Rustom that should keep the audiences entertained till then.
