The new 'Contracts'

Not too long ago, most film-makers would gladly reveal the storyline of their films to the media. Reading the synopsis much before the release of a film was a common practice. But times have changed! Producer Nitin Manmohan and director Anubhav Sinha took an undertaking from the entire star cast of DUS that they wouldn't reveal the storyline of the film till it's released. Even Ramgopal Varma refuses to disclose the story of his films before their release. In fact, if you log on to his website, you'd realize that RGV doesn't stretch the storyline to more than two sentences. Now Sanjay Gupta has decided to do a similar thing. He has taken a written undertaking [MOU] from the principal star cast of ZINDA [Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitley] that they wouldn't reveal any info about the film till Gupta asks them to. That includes everything pertaining to ZINDA. "I've taken this step to ensure complete secrecy about my film," Gupta informs me. Incidentally, Gupta has denied reports that he has postponed the shooting of his film since Dutt is unwell. The fact is, Gupta is proceeding to Bangkok next week for a non-stop shooting schedule of the film.
